Chairman Odelfa Smith Preston

Odelfa Smith Preston was nominated to the State Civil Service Commission by Governor Edward G. Rendell and confirmed by the Pennsylvania State Senate on July 9, 2009. Commissioner Preston was re-nominated to the Commission by Governor Tom Corbett and confirmed by the Pennsylvania State Senate on October 17, 2012. On July 13, 2015, Governor Tom Wolf appointed Commissioner Preston to serve as Chairman of the Commission.

Prior to Chairman Prestons appointment to the Commission, she served as a project manager for Bank of New York Mellon in Pittsburgh. Chairman Preston is vice president of the Delta Service and Education Foundation and is affiliated with the Pittsburgh Association of Financial Professionals.

Chairman Preston has served in numerous other professional managerial positions to include project management and technology positions with PNC Financial Services and as a project leader with Westinghouse Electric Corporation. Chairman Preston holds a Bachelors degree from the University of Pittsburgh and a Masters degree from Point Park University.
