Job Locations

·         Program offices of various Commonwealth agencies (most positions are located in the Harrisburg Metropolitan area. Some agencies may have positions in regional offices)

·         Employment lists will be established and may be used to fill future vacancies

Type of Work

 

·         Flexible 6 month internship (completion of a total of 975 hours)

·         Work schedule will be determined by hiring agency

·         Formal and on-the-job training and experience in program office

·         Will be promoted to a full time position after successful completion of internship and appropriate bachelor’s degree

·         Some positions may require travel

 

Job Duties

 

·         Conduct studies and analyze issues relative to major field of study

·         Prepare reports

·         Develop recommendations for projects

·         Assist staff with assignments and completing projects

·         Must meet PA residency requirement

Examination Information

 

·         Score based on information reported on application and application supplement (participation form)

·         Provide complete and accurate information or:

o    application processing may be delayed

o    disqualification may result

·         If deemed ineligible, you may reapply anytime by submitting a new application and supplement

·         If deemed eligible, no need to reapply for 12 months unless you change your major field of study.  A new application and supplement is required when reapplying. Bachelor Degree Program survey must be updated to match change of major

·         Written notice of test results provided

·         Must currently be enrolled as a full-time undergraduate student in an accredited college/university in a declared bachelor’s degree program

·         Must currently have successful completion of at least thirty (30) college credits, and anticipate successful completion of at least sixty (60) college credits at time of hire to apply

·         Must complete Application Supplement 2016-032-1 (Participation Form.) After completing Part A of the Participation Form, a school official must complete Part B and submit within 20 days of application via e-mail to ra-cs-internship@pa.gov
