Do you want to bring your ideas to life?
Engineers working for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania have unlimited variety, mobility, and opportunity due to the sheer size and diverse composition of the state. We preserve and maintain 2.1 million acres of state forest land and supervise, coordinate, and oversee the design, bidding, and construction of public improvement projects totaling hundreds of millions of dollars annually. As new projects emerge, such as the current drilling in the Marcellus Shale, demand for engineers remains strong.
Commonwealth opportunities provide ample room for career growth and advancement. Many entry-level positions are stepping stones to fulfilling and rewarding careers. For example, you can start your journey as a Civil Engineer Trainee, automatically promote to Civil Engineer, then advance to become a Senior Civil Engineer, followed by a Civil Engineer Manager, and so on. Each step along this path comes with additional responsibilities and learning opportunities, as well as an increase in compensation. There are many engineering paths like this available within the Commonwealth; you only need to find the one that is right for you.
Because of the wide variety of agency missions, you will find an array of engineering positions throughout all of Pennsylvania. For information on currently available positions, please visit the Commonwealth's employment website at
www.employment.pa.gov. Visitors to the website may also subscribe to receive Job Alerts to be informed via email each time a new position is posted.
