Mission Statement
The Pennsylvania State Civil Service Commission, a nonpartisan three-member independent agency, ensures compliance with the classified service employment provisions of Act 71 of 2018 by:
- Serving as an objective, fair, and neutral administrative venue reviewing and resolving disputed personnel actions filed by jobseekers seeking employment and current classified service employees at the state and covered local government levels
- Performing high quality classified service and veterans' preference employment audits
- Reviewing for approval/disapproval requests to exempt jobs from the classified service
